MATERIAL
The combination of high-quality aluminium, hard anodized layer and special coating ensure that weather circumstances have barely effect on the hinges. No more rust involved. The hinge has a black look and is nicely finished. Due to the material treatments, the hinges do not need to be varnished anymore. They are ready for assembly.
DESIGN
The hinge is well thought out and a neat design has been chosen. Everything for the quality and the eye. The hinge is not rugged, but has soft gradients and lines for a sleek, subtle look.
In order to let the hinge do its work, it’s decided to use galvanized brass rings in between the two aluminium parts. The pivot point therefore continues to move easily. Brass rings are chosen as these do not break through cold or heat. The rings are galvanized to keep them looking nice, so they do not turn green in time. In addition, the silver grey matches the black colour nicely.
ASSEMBLY
Drilling and filing is not necessary during assembly. The hinge connects seamlessly with the sheet metal of the door. If the bodywork of your Defender is slightly curved, you can easily compensate for this by using filler plates. Both original and imitation bolts can be used for mounting. The hinges are greased upon delivery. Each hinge set consists of two hinges suitable for mirror mounting. These can be recognized by the 2 extra holes of Ø7.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

Ensure that the clips from the front door bar do not fall behind the sheet metal when disassembling. The same applies to the weld plate with nut at the rear door bar. These clips and plate are required for mounting the FerroForcia hinge sets. These can often be re-used because they are not exposed to weather conditions.
GREASE NIPPLE
The hinges contain a grease nipple and internal channels in the hinge pin to get the maintenance grease in the right places. This allows the entire inside of the hinge, every corner and hole, to be greased. This ensures a longer lifespan for the hinge.
A grease syringe can be easily clicked onto the nipple to grease the hinge. In this way you prevent ‘dirty’ stripes over your door after maintenance, since the grease is not applied from the outside of the hinge.
The grease nipple is perpendicular to the hinge, so you can always access it with the grease syringe, regardless of any extra accessories like rocksliders or silk protectors. The grease nipple has a conical wire, so it’s mounted solid to the aluminium part of the hinge.
