This set contains the FerroForcia bonnet hinge set (HSH1-001-U), bolt set (MSB-002) and filler plate set (MSF-002).

This set is uncolored, the paint must be applied by yourself (the hinges do contain a special pre-paint coat for easy painting/spray).

The bonnet hinge set is universally designed to fit all hoods of Land Rover Defenders up to and including 2016 production.

The assembly of the bolts is done from the bottomside, so no water remains on it. This extends the life span of the bonnet and the hinges. It also makes it look neat and modern.

For painting / spray the areas of the hinge pen and holes NEED to be taped over, so no paint can enter these areas.

Painting / spray is a MUST! Otherwise there’s not enough protection against wheather influences.

Important: the hinge is not greased upon delivery, this needs to be done after mounting the hinges on the Defender. Optionally you can replace the grease nipple after greasing with the blind cap.

The aluminium hinge parts contain a special pre-paint coating. It’s very important that the hinges are treated with a good paint, otherwise there’s no adequate protection against weather influences. Spray / painting therefore is a MUST with this hinge set.

The hinge is well thought out and a neat design has been chosen. Everything for the quality and the eye. The hinge is not rugged, but has soft gradients and lines for a sleek, subtle look.

The assembly of the bolts is done from the bottomside, so no water remains on it. This extends the life span of the bonnet and the hinges. It also makes it look neat and modern.

The original bolts can’t be used. We consciously chose for a different mounting to expand the lifespan of the hinges. The assembly of the bolts is done from the bottomside, so no water remains on it.

Our bolt set (MSB-002) is included in this set.

Filler plates are also included in this set, to protect the paint on the bonnet and for a better sealing. We definitely recommend this! A FerroForcia filler plate set (MSF-002) is seperately available.

This set contains everything you need, except the tools, to mount the FerroForcia bonnet hinges on to your Defender! So you do not need any other parts.

The hinges contain a grease nipple and internal channels in the hinge pin to get the maintenance grease in the right places. This allows the entire inside of the hinge, every corner and hole, to be greased. This ensures a longer lifespan for the hinge.

A grease syringe can be clicked onto the nipple to grease the hinge. In this way you prevent ‘dirty’ stripes over your door after maintenance, since the grease is not applied from the outside of the hinge.

The grease nipple has a conical wire, so it’s mounted solid to the aluminium part of the hinge.

Do you not like the grease nipple? No problem. Just make sure to mount the grease nipple once so you can grease the hinge. You can replace the grease nippel after greasing with the blind cap.

The aluminium hinge parts contain a special pre-paint coating. The color of the separate hinge-parts can therefore be grey, dark grey or black. The exact color of the hinge parts can even differ from one another a bit. The treatment of pre-paint coating is meant for a good paint result, not to deliver a completely ready hinge with perfect colors.

It’s very important that the hinges are treated with a good paint, otherwise there’s no adequate protection against weather influences. Spray / painting therefore is a MUST with this hinge set.

The hinge parts are precisely machined, with little room for extra paint thickness. It is important that the area where the hinge pen and ring make contact are sealed before painting.
